Cheers!
Ahhh, the last post of the year. I did it! I made 12 posts in a year, one for each month (we won’t mention that I’ve been playing a game of catch up with each month haha!) and it was soooo much fun that I think I’m going to try and keep it going for 2022! I’m kinda the worst at keeping New Year’s resolutions, so it makes me very happy that I was actually able to keep this one. On my own site nonetheless! And thank YOU to everyone who actually takes the time to read my craziness. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. Applause all around!
During the holiday season, I feel like we’re always asked what our favorite holiday is. And 9/10 you’ll hear people say Christmas. And I was that way for a while too, but mainly because it was so easy to fall back on. I mean, it’s magical, it’s giving, it’s cozy, and all those fun things. However, when I would sit down and really think about it, I’m not sure it truly ever was my favorite. An easy second for sure, but favorite?? That’s a loaded word to fill haha! I mean honestly, I love any reason to celebrate. So basically all the holidays are my favorite and I always do something extra and cheesy for each, but my favorite-favorite??? I had to really think about it. And after many years, I’ve come to my decision. Drum roll please….my favorite holiday is New Years!! And before you all go “well that’s lame…” let me explain.
I love me a good comeback story. I love reflecting back on things. I love being hopeful (maybe a little too much). I love the unknown. And I love a clean slate. Check, check, check, aaaand check! All of that sounds like a New Year to me, what do you think? LOL It feels silly to say because most people think of New Years as going out, getting drunk, endless resolutions that won’t last more than 2 weeks into January, and soo many diets for no reason. But to me, it’s a way to reflect back on the year you had, find new ways to grow, and try new things! We are constantly growing, so what better way to set your intentions and mean it than on New Years Eve? Each year has it’s complete ups and downs, but no matter what you’re growing - and that’s beautiful to me.
SO! Now that we know my favorite holiday, I figure what better way than to write out my resolutions here on my blog? Woo! I normally always write them in my journal in attempts to manifest them and their vibes into the new year, so let’s see how it goes doing it electronically lol. Please keep in mind, these will be my true resolutions and so they may be a bit cringey/raw (no? just for me to write them out publicly? ok cool…) Here we goooo
In 2022, I hope to be less critical of myself and others, be more patient with myself, continue to heal from my trauma and understanding my OCD, be more present with my friends and family, cook more, throw the idea of perfection out the window, stop constantly comparing myself and to take more breaks from social media, find love for myself, and to find a hobby that I truly love. I know this seems like quite the list, but to sum it up, I’m hoping to bring my individual growth from this year into next and to continue my journey to bettering my life, one day at a time. And so it doesn’t seem like I’m a total fixer upper - I also plan to continue to make time for those I care about each month, continue writing (maybe that’s my hobby, eh??), continue my growth, and continue to make special moments with my family.
And now it has come to the end of the year, and the end of this post, and I hope to have you all back next year while we continue to all grow and be good humans. And if you haven’t written your resolutions yet or they aren’t really your thing - just try writing one small thing you hope to accomplish. Write it in your phone, on your hand, on a napkin - whatever you have! Manifest that shit LOL See you all in 2022!!
